DESCRIPTION
The steering wheel boss is designed with a tapered spline to wedge the steering wheel onto the steering column. Once the steering wheel is installed it becomes stuck on the column. By design, this ensures that the steering wheel will remain firmly in place should the retainer nut become loose. The steering wheel removal tool, also known as a steering wheel puller, is designed to carefully and safely slide the steering away from the taper on the column.
Note: Never attempt to remove the steering wheel without the proper tools. Failure to do so can result in damage to the steering column, steering box or personal injury.
